Curriculum-related family field trips enrich the learning experience and support Counterpane’s philosophy that learning is most successful when the entire family is engaged. A scheduled Counterpane family field trip counts as a school day, and your child’s attendance is expected for at least six of the numerous scheduled events. You will be informed of each trip well in advance and will have a variety of opportunities from which to choose.

Please keep in mind that these trips are academic field trips; they are designed to provide unique teaching opportunities in addition to being fun. This fieldwork is an inherent part of a successful curriculum. Family field trips for the 10/11 school year are:

Shakespeare Tavern Play "...": TBA
Family Camping Trip: TBA
Upper School Backpacking Trip: TBA
Cumberland Island Family Trip: May 28-29, 2011
Trips currently being arranged: TBA

Counterpane has always been at its best when our families
get involved in their children’s learning experience.
